Dr Ben Wingfield

BAppSc(Chiro), Chiropractor.

Ben was initially inspired to become a chiropractor as a teenager after falling out of a tree and hurting his back. After completing his chiropractic degree in 1993 at RMIT University in Melbourne, Ben practised in clinics throughout Australia, England, Scotland and Ireland, gaining extensive experience in many chiropractic techniques and physiological therapies. He has since completed post graduate training in dry needling. Ben founded Southside Health Care in 2000.

Ben has a special interest in sports chiropractic and he is keen to ensure his sporting patients are physically able to participate in their sport at an optimal level. He holds the highest level of membership (certified practising member) of Chiropractic Australia and is a member The Australian Chiropractors Association.

Additionally, Ben has conducted original research into the potential of chiropractic to be effective in the treatment of migraines and associated visual disturbances, particularly tunnel vision. His work in this field was published the world’s leading chiropractic scientific journal, The Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics. Ben continues to take special interest in this area.

In his spare time, Ben enjoys maintaining physical fitness through surfing / stand up paddle boarding, bike riding, and open water swimming with the Noarlunga Masters. He is married to Kylie and is the proud father of three beautiful girls, Karmi, Shay and Asha.

Dr Loukia Papageorgiou

BChiroSc, MChiro, Chiropractor

Loukia became a chiropractor with the intent to help improve the lives of people, by allowing their bodies to naturally heal themselves through chiropractic. She graduated with both her Bachelor and Master of Chiropractic science degrees from Macquarie University in Sydney.

With a keen interest in providing chiropractic care for families from birth to adulthood, Loukia is currently undertaking a post graduate diploma in chiropractic paediatrics.  Her interest in sports chiropractic has led to involvement with the Mitcham Football Club where she has provided the players with pre and post game treatment.

Loukia is an active member of The Australian Chiropractic association of Australia.

Outside of her professional life, Loukia is an accomplished athlete with a black belt in taekwondo, enjoys maintaining her fitness at the gym, and is a qualified Pilates instructor. As an Australian of Greek descent, Loukia speaks fluent Greek.  Being quite a foodie, Loukia is always on the hunt for a good café with great coffee!

Dr Dan Johnstone

BHSc, MClinChiro, BPsychSc(Hons)Chiropractor

Dan graduated as a chiropractor from RMIT University in Melbourne and has since completed post-graduate studies in chiropractic neuro-rehabilitation, dry needling and also an honours degree in psychology.

He has practised throughout Australia, as well as two years abroad working in NZ (Queenstown) and around the UK.

His areas of special interests in chiropractic practice include neck injuries, jaw pain, headaches, sports chiropractic and balance disorders (vertigo and dizziness).

As well as chiropractic, Dan also works part-time for Camp Quality in providing weekend camps for children affected by cancer.

Recreationally, Dan enjoys travel and playing basketball.

Dr Peita Rowlands

BChiroSc, MChiro, Chiropractor.

Peita is a graduate of Macquarie University in Sydney, where she completed both her Bachelor and Master of Chiropractic Science degrees.

She really enjoys treating people of all ages including her own children. With her strong interest in health and wellbeing, Peita endeavours to promote an active lifestyle as an integral part of her chiropractic practice. Peita is constantly striving to widen her knowledge and technique with the aim of improving function and decreasing pain for those with both acute and chronic injuries.

Peita is an active member of Chiropractic Australia and Sports Chiropractic Australia.

As an avid sportswoman, Peita has developed a special interest in sports chiropractic.  She has had a wide variety of sporting interests throughout life including netball, swimming, gymnastics and snowboarding.  Her current passion is aerial yoga.

Pam Collins

Massage Therapist

Pam graduated from the South Australian Health Education Centre (now Endeavour College) in 2008 with a diploma of Remedial Massage. Soon after graduating, she commenced running her own massage business, before joining Southside Health Care in 2013. She is a fully accredited member of The Australian Traditional Medicine Society.

Pam has special interests in sports massage, deep tissue massage, lymphatic drainage techniques, as well as managing chronic pain and occupational injuries. Using lymphatic drainage, Pam has been very successful in helping clients who have swelling caused by lymphodema and weight problems. She takes pride in effectively using her skills to ease muscular aches and pains, improve athletic performance, improve circulation and reduce stress levels. Pam is very proficient in providing both firm and gentle techniques.

Through her extensive experience of bodywork, Pam is well able to create a better state of health and wellbeing for each client. She has a great ability to adapt her treatment for each individual so that they feel relaxed and at ease.

Laney Thomas

Massage Therapist

Laney has been massaging for over 15 years. Originally trained in beauty therapy massage, she went on to graduate with a Diploma of Remedial Massage in 2008 from The Natural Health Academy.

Using techniques such as myofascial release and craniosacral therapy, she is able to assess bodily restrictions and return them to a more balanced, healthy, and freer state. Other modalities she uses are Chinese massage, Japanese massage, Swedish massage, thermotherapy, pregnancy massage, oncology massage, and many more.

Laney’s clients are led through change in a deeply relaxed state. She offers advice on the maintenance of good health. Ongoing learning is a commitment of hers to accommodate her clients’ changing needs.

She believes that massage should be an integral part of every body’s health and wellbeing. Bodies need touch! It’s often the best medicine for those tired, stressed and sore bodies.

Laney is the mother of three beautiful girls, Katie, Eirlys, and Siobhán.

Lyndal Nonyane

Massage Therapist

Having always had a keen interest in health, Lyndal was inspired to consider massage therapy as a career. After an introductory weekend, she was hooked, and discovered her new calling.  She soon graduated with a diploma of remedial massage; later completing further qualifications in myofascial release, craniofascial release, and nutritional studies.

Lyndal enjoys supporting positive change through the transformation of therapeutic touch including reduction in physical, emotional and mental distress.  Lyndal is proficient in numerous massage modalities including sports, relaxation, pregnancy and myofascial release. She is adept at combining modalities to facilitate the best outcome for each client.

Outside professional life, Lyndal is an avid traveller and loves to run, read, write and garden. She also has a life-long love of the ocean and nature. But Lyndal’s greatest joy in life comes from parenting her son.

Sally Hurst

Massage Therapist

Sally is our sports & deep tissue massage specialist.  She may be quite petite but she’s strong!  Her physical strength comes with her athletic endeavours as an accomplished Muay Thai (Thai boxing) competitor.

After graduating with her remedial massage diploma in 2008, Sally gained considerable experience working with professional athletes.   Whilst living in Queensland she became part of the medical support crew for both the Queensland State of Origin rugby league team and The Cowboys NRL team.  Sally continues to provide massage therapy for many elite athletes including professional Muay Thai fighters. As an amateur athlete herself, she well understands the benefits of regular remedial sports massage for both professional athletes and weekend warriors.

Although Sally loves nothing better than feeling the tension and trigger points of an athlete’s hard working muscles melt away in her fingers, she is also adept at providing gentler massage modalities as maybe appropriate for the individual needs of her clients.
